OldSol of the Month: July

A red race car with a black hood and custom modifications, including a spoiler and black disc wheels, is parked in a garage. The windshield has "Status Seven" written on a banner, proudly displaying "July OldSol of the Month," with the racing number prominently on the car door. The garage interior is visible in the background.

Welcome to the **OldSol of the Month July** contest! This month, we are excited to showcase the most stunning Honda Del Sol photos submitted by our dedicated community. Each entry competes for the title, with the winning photo featured in our exclusive **OldSol of the Month July** showcase.

I’ve never liked the Del Sol platform. I mean this because the car looked very weird and the aftermarket support for aesthetic parts were almost very hard to find. How I got into this platform started with me selling my 91 CRX. I had 3k to look for another Honda and came across a post on offer up for a red Del Sol for 3500 from San Bernadino. Seems very suspicious because there was no information except a picture and a vague description. BUT … I took the leap of faith and drove to meet the owner. We saw the car in its very stock form. Red lowered on SI rims. The owner then proceeds to open the hood and my mind was blown away. This delsol was a 94 v-tec model. With a JDM b16a with all the goodies, AC Heater, PS, power windows. owner had all receipts to the car and past owner registrations. I test-drove the car and the first time hearing a B series VTEC crack made me fall in love. The owner wanted to really get rid of it because it was for his daughter but she lost interest. And for whatever reason decided on getting rid of it for 2500.

I took the car home and this was the start/challenge for me owning a Del Sol.

I always thought of the del sol as the blacksheep of Hondas. I wanted to show that a Del Sol can be just as cool as to the other Honda chassis.. I started with motor and transmission work. Then went to look for asthetic parts. This was the hardest part because there are not that many aftermarket support. most of my parts are from different chassis. The wing is from a dc2, the fender cutouts are for a eg hatch, and coilovers are from a EF civic. Im still learning from this
chassis and that’s what makes this experience to me soo unique.

Thank you for the support from OldSolCarClub and for the community for choosing me as sol of the month.
