What drew you to Hondas and or the Del Sol Specifically:
My brother had an old CRX when I was like 15, back in 1999. We played a lot of Gran Turismo (the original) and I just loved the look of the del Sol. Got my first one in 2001 when I turned 17. I had to sell it when I moved to NYC but after a while of living in CA I wanted another one.
What is the Del Sol Scene like in NorCal?
Very good. Mitsu Hayashi, Jorge Ulloa, Marvin Cerpas lead NorCal Sols team and instagram and a ton of others are really into the scene. A few of us are regulars at cars & coffee meets and other events.
Back story of your Del Sol?
Back when I was 17 or 18 I was on a honda forum. I made friends with this couple who were also on the forum, and both had del sols. I’ve stayed very close with one of them, Nikki, for over 20 years now. She lives in LA and ended up with this Nighthawk Black Pearl 95 VTEC and owned it for a few years. She tried to sell it but buyers kept backing out. I made her an offer even though I couldn’t afford it at the time and being the great friend she is she let me make payments on it.
Over my many years of del Sol research I came to love the Motegi Special Edition. I had an opportunity to buy a complete interior and took it. Then got the rest of the euro stuff
